A New Beginning

As I sit here and write in my blog for the first time, I am captivated by excitement. For this blog is the beginning for me in my new career. I have been a mom, a wife, a teacher, a friend, a sister and a daughter for my now almost 49 years. I have supported all those important in my life in their new ventures and now it's my turn! For this reason, I am excited.

PHP Home Decor~ came as a result of my business, Poverty Hollow Primitives which I share it with my husband. It came when we saw the need in hold on to what is old in today's society. Our passion for what is old developed into what our business is today. Poverty Hollow Primitives brings a style of Country Primitive furniture and accessories featuring an 18th and 19th Century Reproduction Design. Each piece is handcrafted by my husband in our workshop in Newtown, Connecticut. Together, we finish each piece entirely inside and out giving it an antique finish of earlier centuries.

Our products include handcrafted decorative checkerboards, candle trays, decorative home signs, and trunks. Furniture includes double door-jelly cupboards, single door jelly cupboards, chimney cupboards, wall shelves (single and double), as well as a unique design tombstone shelf and benches of various sizes. In addition to the interior pieces, we bring some crafted items for the garden/outdoor décor. More recently we have expanded our line to include refinished old pieces using our unique painted finish.

PHP Home Decor~ is a branch off the main business and will have many aspects. Home parties~ Decor Consultations~and Decorating tips and projects will be posted in my blog. I am excited for this new beginning and I hope that you will share in it with me. Leave me your suggestions!

And of course, if you want to book a party and get some really great items for your primitive style home- Email me!

Primitive Blessings,

Amy
